Release What’s No Longer Serving You
It’s the festive season and the end of the year is upon us. I love this beautiful time of year for all that it has to offer. It really is magical and there is an air of love and joy that surrounds us. Time with family and friends, seeing the faces of those you love light up at this special time of the year. It’s also a great time to release what’s no longer serving you in your life.
Reflect and honour this momentous year, with all of the internal and external experiences we have individually and collectively navigated. Leave 2021 and make way for more, be more, do more and have more. Create a life that you love in 2022.
Before setting goals and beginning new chapters, it’s important to clear out the old to create space for what you are calling in. The end of the year is a perfect time to release what’s not serving you and to receive clarity about what you wish to transform in your life.
Letting go of things and negative situations
Releasing and letting go is a natural part of our becoming and is a continuous process. Any time we feel stuck, or we allow a situation from our past to affect our present and future, it’s a good idea to do a releasing ritual. The creation of all rituals is about using the knowledge we receive on the journey of life along with our intuition.
There are as many ways of letting go as there are people. But one thing is universal; the need to find meaning in the chaos. One way of making the process easier is by doing a releasing ritual.
A great way to release what’s no longer serving you is with my simple release ritual through my 3 Golden Gifts and Deeper Wisdom:
I like to keep my rituals simple, so that’s what you’ll see below. However, it’s important when performing a ritual for yourself to pick and choose elements that resonate with you, because ritual is about connecting with your own inner wisdom and divinity. Listen to your intuition and do what feels right for you! There is no “right” or “wrong” and have fun with it!
And whatever way that you choose to honour your struggles and thereby make way for good to come is perfect because it’s all yours.
Golden Gifts
1. Sacred Space
Choose your location. You must choose a place that feels safe and comfortable. You can be inside or outside; it doesn’t really matter as long as you feel good in the location you’ve chosen to do your ritual.
Deeper Wisdom:
Prepare your space. There are several ways to go about this, but some of my favourites are:
- smudge the space using a sage smudge stick
- light a candle (or several!)
- burn incense
- spray a mixture of distilled water and essential oils (I love lavender or rose)
2. Intension is the key
Set your intention or ask for help; my intentions are often requests for help, so that I’m not limited by my own mind. I tend to use one of these phrases or a variation, there’s no need to get the wording exact as long as you communicate your own personal intention honestly for the ritual:
“Please help me see the things in myself and in my life that are no longer serving me so that I may release them.”
“Please help me release anything that is preventing me from serving the highest good of all.”
“Please help me release all of these things that are no longer serving me.”
“Please help me release that which is preventing me from serving the highest good.”
“I am ready to release that which is no longer serving me.”
“I joyfully and willingly release these things and any others that are holding me back from the fullest expression of my divine nature.”
“I release control, fear, and attachments.”
“I see what needs to go and I am ready to let it go.”
Deeper Wisdom:
Write down everything you want to release. Listen to your inner guidance when you make this list. Continue to hold the intention to be shown anything you need to release, whether you were previously aware of it or not. Don’t be too picky about everything on the list being a fully formed thought, idea, or having it all perfectly written out. Just write down everything that comes through without judgement or editing.
3. Ending with embodiment
End your ritual. I like to end with a simple expression of gratitude. Something like this works well for me:
“I am grateful for this opportunity to serve. I let what wants to come, come and what wants to go, go. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, so it is”
Deeper Wisdom:
You may choose to end with a soak in a dead sea salt bath or simply a few deep breaths. If you choose to enjoy a bath, it’s helpful to visualise your energy being cleansed by the water and everything you want to release going down the drain at the end. Or, through the use of music, getting lost in the words and sounds that resonate with my powerful self. This really helps me to embody the shifts I’ve made.
So, let’s summarise those Golden Gifts again:
- Sacred Space
- Intension is the key
- Ending with embodiment
That’s it! Nice and simple and a wonderful way to reconnect and reset. And to create space in your life for all you are calling in and worthy of.
Are you ready to take your first step towards a happier, healthier, fulfilled and more conscious life?
Come and join me on Friday 10 December for a powerful yet relaxing Shamanic Cacao & Sacred Drum Journeying Ceremony 7pm until 9pm (arrive 6:50pm).
This is a special and unique event as a way to honour this momentous year, with all the internal and external experiences we have individually and collectively navigated.
I will be guiding us through a Shamanic Cacao & Sacred Drum Journeying ‘The Ritual of Release’, during which we’ll be shedding, releasing, and recalibrating. We will go much deeper that the ritual I have shared here. And when you are being guided by a facilitator you can just let go and reap the benefits.
We will drink cacao together, which is a beautiful, heart-opening elixir. Not only is it packed full of vitamins and minerals, cacao increases blood flow to the brain, which helps to strengthen awareness and focus. It helps the body to heal, detoxify and to give your immune system a good boost.
We will then journey to our inner world through the beat of the Sacred Drum, actively connecting with the heartbeat of our great Mother Earth. The drum is considered a powerful tool of empowerment.
KEY BENEFITS:
💗 Helps our brainwaves shift from Beta to Alpha rhythm, creating a general feeling of relaxation and wellbeing.
💗 Quietens our minds, helping to relax and deepen our breath. This helps us to reconnect with our natural body wisdom.
💗 Brings us into rhythmic balance as it connects the neuropathways between our left and right hemispheres of our brain.
💗 Reduces anxiety and helps to release old energy that has become blocked in our body and energy system. This allows us to receive deep healing and transformation.
💗 Helps us open to Great Spirit and the infinite Universal wisdom that is all around us. Through this inspiration we are offered new ways of dealing with life’s problems.
💗 We heal and awaken to higher vibrations of love and Light whilst rooted deep into the Earth for stability.
💗 In these times of change and uncertainty, the beat of the drum calls us home.
